And finally,
the last letter of this phrase, “I am aware,” It is the letter, “E.”
And, I think
a fitting note to end the phrase and this awareness week, is to focus on the
word “ever,” as in ever-changing,
ever-growing, ever-evolving. That is who you and I are. Right now
We will not
be the exact same individuals we are today a year from now. Likewise, we are
not who we were a year ago, a decade ago. We change. We cannot stop it.
All things
are subject to change.
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the
glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to
glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
2 Corinthians 3:18
There should
be hope and not despair in that truth. However, many of us who struggle with
disordered image issues want to remain the same; we want to stop change, even
if it is for the better.
There is
more to you and I; there is more to our lives than wherever we find ourselves
right now. The glory of us is in process. The challenge is to ENJOY that
process! Start right now in yours!!!
