Jacob Wetterling, missing since 1989, was found, via his remains, not the preferred reality of an alive young man.
I still have the button which was created in 1989 to promote awareness of his disappearance. It's a sober reminder of how, even in a Norman Rockwell- looking kind of small town, these unspeakable things can still happen to children.
Prayers for his family and hope this kind of thing never happens to another child.
