Change; allow God to change you
What are we doing? Is it the same old, same old- or is it something different? There’s a quote out there: “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting a different result.” Is this you? Are you doing anything different these days- or are you in a rut?
God never calls us to a rut; He calls us to a transformed life:
“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
2 Corinthians 3:18
But the key here is God. God is the missing ingredient if we desire or need change in our lives. It’s important to remember that life is change. You and I are changing from day to day. Don’t be afraid of it. The fact is, life is temporary; we cannot stop it from happening. It’s an illusion to think that we can control our worlds. We cannot. God is in control- and He’s quite capable of doing it.
“I believe God is managing affairs and that He doesn't need any advice from me. With God in charge, I believe everything will work out for the best in the end. So what is there to worry about.”
Henry Ford
So, where do we start with this challenging thing called change?
Baby steps. We need to get more comfortable with being uncomfortable with change- but don’t allow that discomfort to keep us from changing. And it’s not a perfect process, but it IS a process, over time, over life, nevertheless! Just where you are, right now, allow God. What does that mean? What fear does that speak to? Trust God with it.
And view change as the inevitable process in you, a process of going from glory to glory. You’re just in between glories right now.
Relax. You’re getting there. Don’t be afraid to change!
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
2 Corinthians 4:18
