I have made poor decision

Looking at this cat, stuck, floating on the water, out of its element, we can relate. How many of us, indeed, have made a bad decision? Yep. Our lives are filled with ‘em. The uninformed, the rash, the foolish, the impatient , the stupid are just a few options we’ve taken when making a poor decision.

So, now that we’ve made that bad choice, now what? Are we hopelessly lost and doomed? Nope. It just takes a change in direction- going TO, instead of away- from God. And that’s humbling and no, often, not fun. To admit that our way of doing things wasn’t so hot, got us into this jam requires humility. And it requires us asking for His help.

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
James 1:5

He tells us He’ll give it to us, after all…

“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk in it, whenever you turn to the right hand, and whenever turn to the left.’”
Isaiah 30:21

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go: I will guide you with My eye.”
Psalm 32:8

So, if you’re stuck, ask for help, but not just any old help. Ask for God’s help! He’s faithful to give you the wisdom you need.

“Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”
Philippians 4:6

“In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:6

Ask! Ask away!

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”
Matthew 7:7-11

“And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”
John 14:13-14
