Difficult. High maintenance. Blood suckers. Users. Leeches. Debby Downers. Have any of these people in your life? Fun, aren't they? If only life could be filled with uplifting cheerleaders all the time in our lives.
Well... it ain't.
So, what, if anything, can we glean from these negative people? How about the good old fashioned "cautionary tale?"
There will always be naysayers, but they don't have to determine "no" in our life. A pastor once told me about the arm's distance approach to love. You can love someone from a distance, but if they're toxic, you don't have to let them into your world. You're too important to just let anyone hang out around you. If they contribute, wonderful. But if they contaminate, employ that distancing arm, as needed.
God's called you to be yourself, not a rundown, negative copy of this particular draining person. Romans 8:28 says all things work together for our good. ALL THINGS!!! Be yourself at your best, regardless of who only sees the sky falling!!!
Just Do You... you're great at it!!!
