Everything is Either

It’s about perspective, isn’t it?

It sounds like a neat, tidy answer, but the walking it out part of it? Not so much.

So, it’s about opportunity; it’s about choice. What will we choose?
I love what Bishop Jakes says:

“When you can’t change something, change the way you look at it.”

Perspective… Choice…

And God clearly tells us to execute our power of choice as well:

“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
Joshua 24:15

Furthermore, God entrusts us with choosing decisions that either promote positive or negative consequences:

“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love to talk will have to eat their own words.”
Proverbs 18:21

Yikes! That’s a wakeup call!

No, we cannot control everything; only God can. Nevertheless, we still have responsibility to be good stewards over what we can have and change. And that includes our perspectives on our lives.

Easier said than done.

But we need to always remember that we can make another choice about something in our life.

And, if we turn to God for help and wisdom, we can make better, healthier choices. But we need to start by looking at it and choosing what to do with it, whatever “it” may be.

And, it’s do-able. We have God.
