I Celebrate You (2015 NEDA Week)

I celebrate you.

God celebrates you.

Ever had a party thrown in your honor? Well, that kind of sentiment is how excited God is about each of us.

After all, according to the parable of the lost sheep, there was much focus and energy spent on finding that lost 100th member of the flock.

“Then Jesus told them this parable:  “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”

Luke 15:3-7

Sure, 99 were present and accounted for. But that wasn’t good enough; it wasn’t the same as having each one there, in God’s sight.

“The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.”

Zephaniah 3:17

He wants to rejoice over everyone, in plain sight!

Perhaps you feel there’s nothing worth celebrating right now, especially when it comes to yourself. Please see how differently God’s view is from feelings of low self-worth.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

Isaiah 55:8-9

You have no idea just what God has in mind- and in store- for you!

“But as it is written, ‘Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.’”

1 Corinthians 2:9

He’s planning a big surprise party in your honor!

Please show up!
