Sponsor Chick

The word, sponsor is often used in recovery. We are told repeatedly to maximize our health and healing, we need people. And this rams into the isolated attribute of disorder and addiction. In order to stay hidden in our diseases, we tell ourselves to hole up, to shut ourselves off from the rest of the world. Then, and only then, will we, therefore, be able to control our lives as we see fit. But we’re not in control. There is no way for us to be an island in and of ourselves. We affect- and need people. God, right from the start, recognized this Truth: “And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” Genesis 2:18 And, if we truly want to improve our lives, let alone, recover, we need perspectives outside of our own. Sponsors, support networks and honest counseling are a part of that. “Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counselors they are established.” Proverbs 15:2 “For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.” Proverbs 11:14 Frustration is inevitable; it’s a part of the process. When we feel like giving up, abandoned everyone and isolating, that’s EXACTLY the time we need to “peep” and reach out, just like this little chick here. Are you? And please remember, you’re never alone; you’re never without God. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalms 46:1 Please grab your help today!
